RoHS Compliance Analysis

RohsThe RoHS Compliance Analysis is a summary of information, which confirms the compliance status of your product and your suppliers’ part numbering system methodology to ensure accurate procurement. This information will allow your company to make an almost seamless transition into a fully RoHS compliant product. The RoHS compliance analysis will provide you with manufacturer and part specific information, noting whether manufacturers have made part number changes or are using a date code method to indicate RoHS Compliance. The Analysis provides the following:

Nomenclature Analysis
Lead Free Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) Review
RoHS Compliant Reflow Temperature Information
JEDEC/JESD97 Marking
Material Declarations Form Collection
RoHS compliant alternates suggestions

Impact on circuit design assessment

This information will allow your company to make an almost seamless transition into a fully RoHS compliant product. Database management, research and documentation collection will be reduced to a minimum. Additionally, sourcing of compliant components will be much easier and hassle-free.

The RoHS compliance analysis will provide you with manufacturer and part specific information, noting whether manufacturers have made part number changes or are using a date code method to indicate RoHS Compliance.

MSL information is required and important because it will greatly help you manage your inventory in a more efficient way. Due to lead-free requirements, a number of components are now more sensitive to moisture than their non-compliant counterparts, therefore they cannot be stored for such long periods of time. The basic rule-of-thumb is for every 10ºC reflow temperature increase, the MSL level increases by one.

To ensure that your RoHS compliant Bill of Materials meets the increase temperature requirements of a lead free manufacturing process we will also provide you with the peak re-flow temperature of each component.

And last but not least we will provide you with the manufacturers Material Declaration Forms. These forms will be what the European Commission will require within 28 days of request to allow your product to ship into one of the European Union countries.
